What happened: Chase Carpenter tossed a complete game with six strikeouts and the Falcons defeated the Bulldogs (11-5) in the Idaho 4A State first round. Gabe Childs hit 2 for 3 with a walk and three RBIs for Vallivue. For Sandpoint, Trey Flint went 2 for 3 with an RBI, and Tristan Authier pitched 6 2/3 innings with seven strikeouts. Sandpoint will play the loser of the Middleton-Twin Falls game at noon on Friday; Vallivue will play the winner at 6 PM on Friday.
