Shadle Park blew open a pitcher's duel with a five-run eighth inning for a 5-0 win against Rogers in the District 8 3A Tournament on Friday. Shadle advanced to play Mt. Spokane later on Friday, while Rogers was eliminated. The Highlanders strung together a series of hits with one out in the eighth, with Darren Dawson's two-run single striking the biggest blow. Evan Norden pitched four innings and earned the win, conceding no runs to lead Rogers to a 3-0 win over North Central on Monday. Daniel Rameriez connected on two hits, one a double and the other a triple for Rogers. Nathan Romanski pitched the entirety of the game.
