Rachel Utecht hit a three-run homer in the fifth and Richland held on to beat Central Valley 6-3 in a 4A regional elimination game at Columbia Playfield in Richland. Central Valley scored three runs in the third to take a 3-1 lead before Utecht's blast. Bears' starter Kelsey Gumm pitched all seven innings, scattering eight hits.

Brandi Andrews came within one out of a no-hitter and finished with a two-hitter as Richland (21-3) defeated University 12-1 in a winner-to-state, loser-out game of the 4A regional tournament at Richland's Columbia Playfield.
