Led by Jake Wells, Pullman cruises by West Valley 58-47 for District 7 championship

PULLMAN – Their coach was battling a case of Bronchitis, their top player was still getting over his flu and at least four other Pullman players were afflicted by a team-wide bug that caught the Greyhounds during their 12-day district tournament layoff. Supposedly, the Hounds were sick as dogs. It never truly showed Wednesday night in the District 7 championship game.

Micah Pollard scored 17 points and the No. 3 seed Falcons (20-4) topped the sixth-seeded Greyhounds (19-3) at Mt. Tahoma HS. Foss moves to a state quarterfinal on Thursday at 7:15 p.m. at the Yakima SnuDome while Pullman faces Renton in an elimination game on Wednesday at 3:45 p.m. Jake Wells led Pullman with 19 points and Zane Wilson added 12.
