What happened: Herbie Wright led all scorers with 18 points, Deidra Phillips added 18 and the fourth-seeded Mustangs (19-5) beat the visiting fifth-seeded Bantams (24-1) in a 2A state opening-round game on Saturday at Kamiakin High School. Kendall Wallace led Clarkston with 13 points, Eloise Teasley added 12. Clarkston faces Enumclaw in a loser-out on Wednesday.
