After falling behind 13-7 in the first quarter, Chewelah roared back with a 16-3 run and never looked back, defeating Newport 47-36. Maggie Cobb led the Cougars with 17 points. Lauren Vaughn led Newport with eight points. With the victory, Chewelah locked up the second seed to districts. With the loss, Newport's season has come to a close.

Hadley Stratton tallied 13 points, and Newport staged a fourth-quarter comeback to sink host Deer Park 32-28 on Thursday. The Grizzlies trailed 20-16 entering the fourth, but made shot nine out of 14 free throws in the final period to pull out the win. Damaris Guske led the Stags with eight points.
