Mullan's Charli Sadler laid up the game-winning score as time expired to upend Kootenai 50-49 to advance to the 1A District II championship. With Kootenai leading 49-48 with six seconds remaining in the game, Sadler grabbed the rebound off of a missed free throw and drove the length of the court for the deciding basket. Kootenai built an early lead, then withstood a late comeback to defeat Mullan 52-44. The Warriors led 14-6 after the first quarter, but Mullan closed the gap late to only three points before KayeLee Carman hit four clutch free throws late in the fourth quarter to help seal the victory.
