Lakeside fell in a pitcher's duel 2-1 to Montesano in the 1A State quarterfinals on Friday. McKensie Brittos turned in another strong outing for the Eagles, but the Bulldogs pushed across two unearned runs in the second. Brittos drove in Lakeside's only run with an RBI triple in the fourth, but the Eagles struggled against Montesano ace Madison Didion, who recorded 10 strikeouts. Lakeside moved on to play NEA rival Deer Park later on Friday in the consolation bracket.
