Deer Park's Kylie Sweeney tossed five shutout innings, striking out nine and allowing just one hit as the host Stags defeated Medical Lake 11-0 in the opening round of the District 7 1A playoffs. Sweeney also hit a two-run home run. Sonja Vanisi went 2 for 4 with four RBIs for Deer Park. The Stags will travel to Lakeside to play Riverside in the next round of districts Saturday at 10am.

Rylee Merritt went 3 for 4 with a grand slam and five RBIs as the host Indians handled the Cardinals in the second game of a Northeast A League doubleheader. Gracie Schauls scattered five hits and struck out seven Medical Lake hitters to earn the victory for Colville.
