The Cardinals missed a potential game-tying shot with under five seconds to play in the game, and Newport's Connor Mullaley made a pair of free-throws with three seconds to go to ice the game. The Grizzlies travel to Omak on Friday to face Okanogan in the Bi-District Tournament.

Cooper James and Tellas Johnson combined to go 9-of-15 from three as the Cardinals defeated the visiting Cougars 67-49. James had 15 points in the game, and Johnson added eight rebounds and eight assists to go with his 19 points. The Cougars' Mason Miller matched Johnson with 19 points of his own in the loss.
