What happened: The top-seeded Bears (24-0) defeated the visiting eight-seeded Mavericks (14-6) in a State 3A opening round game on Friday. Mia Brockmeyer led the Mavericks with 21 points. Central Valley will play in the State 3A quarterfinals game next Thursday.
