GSL slowpitch: University rolls past Mead for title

Sophomore Gracee Dwyer’s offensive contribution sparked University to its eighth Greater Spokane League District slowpitch softball championship on a sunny Tuesday afternoon on its home field with a 13-3, five-inning victory over Mead.

Carolyn Wendell and Destiny Scott hit RBI singles to spark a three-run seventh inning and Mead came back to beat Central Valley 3-1 in a Greater Spokane League district semifinal game on Monday. The Panthers will travel to University for the district championship on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. Aubrey Williams singled to drive in Jordan Schneidmiller for the Bears in the third inning.
