Central Valley extended their season with a wild 6-4 nine-inning game against Mead in a District 8 4A loser-out game. CV got to extra innings thanks to a defensive gem from Colton Peha, as he caught a fly ball in center and then threw out a Mead runner trying to tag and score the winning run from third. University struck early and held off Mead 2-0 in a District 8 4A tournament game at Avista Stadium on Thursday. The Titans' Bryce Williamson singled in a pair of runs with two outs in the top of the first for the only runs of the game. Jarad Smith worked a complete-game shutout with five strikeouts to earn the win, while Mason Wells fanned six for the Panthers.
