What happened: Ella Fritts scored 16 points, Grace Hintz added 15 and the third-seeded Lyncs (15-5) beat the visiting sixth-seeded Eagles (11-14) in a 1A state opening-round game on Saturday at Lynden High School. Ayanna Tobeck led Lakeside with 14 and Rylee Darnold added 13. Lakeside faces Montesano in a loser-out on Wednesday.
