Cole Bajema scored 21 points and Lynden Christian downed Freeman in the state 1A title game Saturday at the SunDome in Yakima. Andrew DeVries added 18 points, Luke Bos 17 for the 26-1 Lyncs. Michael Coumont led Freeman with 14 points and Jackson Clark added 10. It was the Scotties' first loss after reeling off 24 consecutive victories.

Colson Bajema scored 29 points and the No. 1 seed Lyncs (23-1) handled the eighth-seeded Grizzlies (17-7) at Mt. Vernon HS. Lynden Christian reaches a state quarterfinal game on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Yakima SunDome while Newport faces an elimination game on Wednesday at 2 p.m. against King’s. Adam Moorhead led Newport with 19 points and Danny Bradbury added 13.
