What happened: Jackson Sumner went 2 for 2 with a two-run home run and three RBIs and the visiting Vikings (14-10) eliminated the Timberwolves (12-10) in the Idaho 5A Region I runner-up game. Jayce Bailey gave up three hits and one walk with five strikeouts in four shutout innings, while Carter Friesz tossed a scoreless inning of relief. What happened: Julian Washburn singled twice and drove in four and the Bengals (16-6) beat the Timberwolves (12-9) to win the district title and advance to state. Jaden Phillips had two hits with three RBIs while Jackson Fuller and Chris Powell had two hits and two RBIs apiece. Lake City hosts Coeur d’Alene on Thursday for district runner up. The winner goes to a play-in game to state.
