A big second quarter helped propel Kellogg to a 46-31 victory over Fruitland in the Idaho State 3A Tournament. After a close first quarter, the Warriors outscored the Grizzlies 15-3 in the second and held on from there. Tucker Gust led Kellogg with 13 points, while Heath Waechter added seven points and seven rebounds. Conner Benear led Fruitland with seven points and six rebounds.

Gus Colburn had 16 points and 10 rebounds, Tucker Gust scored 15 and the Kellogg cruised past Parma 60-42 in a 3A State tournament elimination game at Meridian High on Friday. Colburn, who also led the Wildcats with 6 assists, buried a game-best three 3-pointers as Kellogg (20-4) never trailed. The Panthers (11-15) were paced by Tanne Kramer’s 11 points. Kellogg will meet Fruitland on Saturday at 8:15 a.m. at Meridian in the consolation final.
