What happened: Kaden Van Dyke struck out five in a complete game two-hitter and the eighth-seeded Crusaders (16-5) beat the ninth-seeded Fisherman (14-5) in a State 2B opening round game at Brewster HS on Saturday. Jacob Bell and Zach Wing had run-scoring hits for NWC in the first inning. The Crusaders advanced to a quarterfinal against top-seeded Brewster at 3 p.m.
