What happened: Jaycee Goldsmith scored 16 points and the Scotties (19-5, 10-2) beat the Grizzlies (13-11 6-4) in a State 1A opening-round game at West Valley on Friday. Graci Bonney-Spradlin led Hoquiam with 10 points. Freeman advances to an elimination game in the round-of-12 at the Yakima Valley SunDome on Wednesday.
