Senior Emily Welch made the most of her final home stand as the senior smacked a two-out, walk off single to left center, scoring two to lift Gonzaga Prep over Shadle Park 8-7 in the first game of a GSL slowpitch softball game Wednesday. Welch's hit scored Miranda Lahman on third base and Nia Whitfield from second base.

Leadoff hitter Breanna Barnes went 3-4 and scored two runs to lead Shadle Park over Gonzaga Prep 12-6 in the second game of a Greater Spokane League slowpitch softball doubleheader Wednesday night. Sarah Myers added two RBIs for the Highlanders. Senior Nia Whitfield hit a grand slam home run in the fifth inning for the Bullpups. The game was called in the sixth inning due to darkness.
