Freeman closed out their season with a 4-1 defeat to Cashmere Saturday in the State 1A tournament. The loss means the Scotties finish fourth. Jake Phipps turned in a solid outing, but the Bulldogs pushed across three runs in the fourth to provide the difference. McKabe Cottrell drove in the only run for Freeman in the first inning.

By Mike Anderson, correspondent YAKIMA – Freeman’s chances for an unlikely state-title triple crown fell victim to the erratic but dominant pitching of Hoquiam’s Kyle Standstipher at County Stadium on Friday in a 4-0 semifinal defeat at the State 1A baseball tournament.
