The Hornets hit 25 of 43 free throws, dropping foul plagued East Valley to sixth place in 2A girls with a 62-55 win. Hannah Burand and Alex Rankin led East Valley (21-5) with 15 points each before fouling out. The Knights had three players finish with four fouls. Kendall Bird of White River led all scorers with 23 points

Michael Anderson, Special to NWPrepsNow.com ---------- Using a balanced attack East Valley topped Port Angeles 52-40 and advanced to the fourth-place game of the State 2A girls basketball tournament. Three players scored in double figures for the Knights, led by Alex Rankin with 12. Hannah Burand had 11 and Elle Burand had 10. East Valley (22-3) will play White River on Saturday at 8 a.m.
