Phoebe Trigsted netted 13 points, and Valley Christian stayed alive in the District 7 1B Tournament with a 50-45 win over Cusick Saturday at Deer Park. The Panthers led most of the game, and were able to hold on in the fourth quarter thanks to a couple key put-backs by Kendra Pope. She led VC with 10 rebounds. Andreya Colvin scored 14 points, and host Wellpinit downed Cusick 57-47 Tuesday in a District 7 1B playoff encounter. Jovahni Andrews chipped in 10 points and Kaylee Kieffer drained three three-pointers for nine points for the Redskins. Wellpinit advances to play the winner of the Valley Christian vs. Republic game on Saturday at Deer Park. Renee Wynne notched 14 points to lead the Panthers. Cusick will face the loser of the VC/Republic match, also on Saturday.
