Cheney kept Clarkston scoreless through four innings before beating them in the first round of the loser-out tournament. Cheney's Connor Pratt struck out 10 batters in five innings and now has 86 strikeouts in 51 innings of work this year. Cameron Marchand hit a three-run home run, while Dominic Bonilla was 2 for 4, Kyle Jones was 3 for 3 and Cade Vanwormer was 2 for 4. Pullman's Trever Joireman and Christian Palomo gave up four hits in six combined innings of work as Pullman bested Clarkston 6-2. Jake Cillay's two-run double in the top of the fifthhelped Pullman pull away and finish the regular season with the No. 2 spot in the Great Northern League. Pullman will go on to play East Valley on Saturday in the opening round of the playoffs.
