Deer Park's Brandon Coy laid down a suicide squeeze with one out in the bottom of the seventh to bring home the winning run in a 6-5 victory over visiting Chewelah in a District 7 1A playoff game. On the mound, Coy pitched four shutout innings in relief. Deer Park has won its first postseason game in over 25 years. The Stags travel to Colville tomorrow at 4pm in a District 7 1A semifinal.

McKabe Cottrell threw a complete game for Freeman with 13 strikeouts and one hit allowed in Freeman's shutout of Chewelah. Freeman's Isaiah Crane was 3 for 4 with three runs scored, while Jake Phipps was 2 for 2 with a single and a double to go along with his two RBIs. With the victory, Freeman finishes first in the Northeast A league standings at 13-1. They will take on either Medical Lake or Lakeside in the first round of the playoffs.
