Kaelyn Barnes scored in the 25th minute, but the Bears fell to the Eagles 2-1 in the championship match of the State 4A tournament on Saturday. Mariah Van Halm and Catey Nelson scored for the Eagles.

Kaelyn Barnes scored the winning goal in the 21st minute and the Bears (18-0) held on for a 1-0 victory over the Lancers (16-2-3) in a State 4A match at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup on Friday. The Lancers outshot the Bears, 8-6, but keeper AJ Crooks kept the Lancers at bay, piling up seven saves. Central Valley advances to the state championship tomorrow at 4 p.m. against the winner of Camas vs. Issaquah.
