Prep roundup: Mead girls pull away from Central Valley 68-48; Henry Sandberg leads Gonzaga Prep boys past Ridgeline

In a quirk of the schedule this season, the Mead girls team didn’t face the other top contenders in the Greater Spokane League 4A/3A division until the last week of the regular season. The Panthers faced the first of a two-part test Tuesday against Central Valley – and passed with flying colors.

Drae Domebo led CV with 13 points. Chiawana visits Gonzaga Prep on Saturday in the second place game, with the winner going to state.

What happened: Eden Sander scored 20 points, Drae Domebo added 15 and the Bears (17-7) beat the visiting Tigers (10-13) in a District 8 4A loser-out game on Tuesday. Olivia Baird scored 15 points for Lewis and Clark. Central Valley will play Chiawana in a loser-out on Thursday at Chiawana High School.
