What happened: Macey Shamblin scored 23 points with 14 rebounds and the eighth-seeded Crusaders (23-4) upset the second-seeded Pirates (24-3) in overtime to win the State 2B championship at the Spokane Arena on Saturday. Northwest Christian was the runner-up to Reardan in 2013, however, this is their first 2B girls state title. Kaitlyn Waters scored 20 points and Juliana Pope add another 16 for NWC.
Karsyn Freeman led Lakeside with 27 points. The Pirates got into a foul trouble and three of their top scorers fouled out.
