What happened: Jaycee Coffield went 3 for 5 with a home run and six RBIs and the seventh-seeded Panthers (16-4) came from behind to knock off the third-seeded Mavericks (16-5) in a State 4A semifinal at Gateway Sports Complex in Yakima. Mead trailed by two entering the seventh inning but rallied for seven runs, keyed by an inside-the-park three-run home run by Coffield. Mia Martin went 3 for 5 with two doubles, a home run and five RBIs for Mead, which faces top-seeded Chiawana in the state title game Saturday at 2 p.m. in a rematch of the District 6 championship game, won by Chiawana 9-5.
