Maddy Dixon scored 22 points with 13 rebounds and the top-seeded Pirates (24-2) beat the fifth-seeded Hurricanes (22-8) to take third-place in State 1B in the Spokane Arena on Saturday. Mount Vernon Christian took fifth. The Hurricanes were led by Josie Droog who scored 11 points. The Pirates took control in the third quarter, outscoring Mount Vernon Christian 13-2. The rebounding battle was won by Pomeroy who grabbed 42 rebounds compared to only 26 for the Hurricanes.
