What happened: Dalton Kentner struck out 11 in a two-hitter and went 2 for 4 with a double and four RBIs and the Warriors (23-1) beat the Tigers (18-4) in the State 1B championship game at Parker-Faller Field in Yakima on Saturday.
Cooper Correia went 3 for 3 with two RBIs, Chase Gerard went 2 for 4 with two runs out of the leadoff spot and Reece Isaak drove in a pair of runs for ACH.
The Warriors led 2-0 entering the fifth inning and broke it open. Gage Burchill and Gerard led off with back-to-back singles and Burchill scored on Kentner's one-out single. Maguire Isaak singled to plate another run and Reece Isaak's single later in the inning brought in two to make it 9-0.
Meanwhile, Kentner was dealing. He had a 1-2-3 first inning with a pair of groundouts and a strikeout. He struck out the side in the second and got out of a two-on, two-out jam in the third with another groundout. The leadoff hitter reached in the fourth on an error, but Kentner struck out the next three batters to escape any damage. The senior stranded a runner at second in the fifth with another K and produced a 1-2-3 sixth to finish it off.
ACH swept Northeast 1B league foe Odessa in three games this season. The Warriors' only loss came to Brewster, which finished third in Class 2B, on April 9 in the second game of a doubleheader.
