Bryan Strom scored 18 points with a team-high five rebounds and the sixth-seeded Eagles (18-8) beat the 12th-seeded Nighthawks (17-8) on Thursday in the quarterfinals of the 1B state tournament in the Spokane Arena. Kieron Anderson led Oakesdale with 22 points and seven rebounds. Mylo Jones added 13 points for Yakama Nation Tribal. The Eagles shot 50 percent from the floor and they held the Nighthawks to only 31 percent. Yakama Nation advances to play seventh-seeded Almira/Coulee-Hartline on Friday at 9 p.m. in the Spokane Arena. Oakesdale plays eighth-seeded Naselle at 2 p.m. in the Arena.
