What happened: Gabe Passey went 2 for 3 and Moses Lake (18-4) eliminated Mead (16-7) 3-1 in a state 4A first-round game at Shadle Park HS. Mead’s Dalen Simbler had a pair of hits and drove in the Panthers’ run. Mason Wells pitched a complete-game three-hitter but Moses Lake pushed two across in the sixth and one in the seventh. Austin Reed added two hits for the Panthers.
