Chandler Pincock scored 27 points on 12-of-18 shooting on Saturday as Sugar-Salem outlasted Kellogg 62-60 in double overtime in the fifth-place game of the Idaho state 3A tournament Saturday at Meridian High School.
Dan Shirley added 16 points and Thomas Baldwin had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the 22-8 Diggers, who trailed 40-29 after three quarters but outscored the Wildcats 19-8 in the fourth to force overtime. Sugar-Salem dominated the boards, outrebounding Kellogg 44-26, and hit 5 of 16 3-pointers to the Wildcats' 1 of 11. Chase Jerome scored 16 points and Tanner Mueller and Ryan Morgan added 14 apiece for Kellogg, which finished 18-5.
