Summary

It took an extra frame, but the Pirates leaned on their senior point guard, Cody Young, in the waning moments.

At the end of regulation, Young hit the big shots and at the end of overtime, he was the one handling the ball.

With 27 points on 9 of 16 shooting, the 5-foot-8 guard led Adna to the quarterfinals with a win over the favorited Toledo Indians.

Reece Wallace led Toledo with 19 points, but he also was detrimental to the Indians in the end. He was forced into committing 10 turnovers, double the

total Adna had as a team.

Adna was outrebounded as a team, 36 to 23, but they grabbed more offensive rebounds, 12 to 10.

Austin Anderson added 11 points for the Pirates and Arroyo Junior had 12 points with 10 rebounds or the Indians.

Adna advances to play top-seeded Kittitas/Thorp on Friday at 7:15 p.m.

Toledo plays seventh-ranked Toutle Lake at 12:15 p.m.
