Summary

What happened: Kelsey Gumm threw a complete game with 13 strikeouts and allowed only four hits as the Bears defeated the Riverhawks 2-1 in the 3A regional playoffs on Tuesday.

Maci Reynolds hit a two run double in the third to put CV up 2-0. Then Chiawana responded with a single run in the 4th to make it 2-1, then in the 7th they had the tying run on base but couldn't convert as CV's defense clamped down.

Central Valley advances to a subregional semifinal game on Friday.

Stat of the game: Aimee Gores was 3 for 3 from the plate with a double.
