Summary

What happened: Hogan Heytvelt pitched a complete game and picked up three hits – including a game-tying single in the sixth – and Pirates (15-1) beat the Titans (13-3) at Northwest Christian HS on Thursday.

Pomeroy advances to the district title game against the Colton/Almira-Coulee.Hartline winner on Saturday, while O-H faces Selkirk in a loser-out.

After taking an early two-run lead, Odessa-Harrington scored three runs in the sixth inning on three back-to-back-to-back RBI singles.

But Pomeroy answered in the bottom half. The Pirates got two runners on and moved them over with a sacrifice bunt. Heytvelt then singled in the tying run, making it 3-3. After a fielder's choice and a walk, Cort LaMunyan drew a walk with the bases loaded to give Pomeroy an eventual 4-3 victory.
