What happened:

Quinten Ayers drove in both runs for Mt. Spokane (6-0, 4-0) as they only needed two runs to beat Gonzaga Prep (3-3, 1-3) on Tuesday to stay undefeated on the year.

After four innings of scoreless baseball, Ayers drove in the first run of the game with a single. In the sixth, Ryan Gross hit a home run off of Stu Flesland to tie the game at 1-1. But in the top of the seventh, Ayers came up again with a runner in scoring position and delivered, giving the Wildcats the lead and the eventual win.

Ben McKinnis threw five innings with seven strikeouts for Mt. Spokane and Connor Coballes went 5 2/3 innings with four strikeouts for Gonzaga Prep.
