What happened:

In a pitcher's duel, Marcus Cain struck out seven and helped lead Mt. Spokane to a 1-0 win over visiting Gonzaga Prep in extras. Cain had a no-hitter going until it was broken up in the seventh inning. Gonzaga Prep's starter, Seth Kuykendall, had 13 strikeouts of his own. In the bottom of the ninth inning with the bases loaded and two outs, catcher Quentin Ayers was hit by a pitch to win the game.
