Zarren Nelson pounded out three hits for Chewelah (5-0, 3-0) as they defeated Deer Park (4-2, 2-2) in league play on Friday. Nelson hit one of two doubles for Chewelah, with Zak Kubik having the other.

Ryder Robison pitched his way all the way to the seven inning, but Deer Park got a couple runs to make the game 5-4 with the tying run on third base. Robison was relieved by Elan Krausz who caught back-to-back line drives and doubled-off the runner at third base to seal the victory.

Brandon Moore had two hits for Deer Park.
