Summary

What happened: Ally Jones, KD Skillingstad and Hannah Lemelin were defensive stand-outs and Cheney defeated Othello on Saturday to advance to the State Tournament. In a game where Cheney registered no aces, strong defensive performances were seen. Jones had 28 digs, Skillingstad had 5 blocks and though Lemlin didn't crack the leaderboard she made her presence felt, giving an all-out effort defensively.

What's next: Cheney advances to the State tournament for the first time since 1987. The tournament will be held on Friday and Saturday at St. Martin's in Lacey.
