Summary

Life Christian Academy narrowly defeated Morton-White Pass 49-47 in a hard fought consolation game in the 2B boy's state tournament on Saturday at the Spokane Arena.

Timberwolve guard Braiden Elledge broke a 44-44 tie with a layup with 1:25 remaining, but a pair of free throws from Reid Roelofs with 1:25 remaining tied the game back up at 46. A free throw from Roelofs at 1:00 gave the Eagels a one-point lead, and they eventually extended it to three with a wide open layup from CJ Kovacs off the feed from Wyatt Dunlap with 38 seconds remaining.

MWP's Kaleb Poquette was fouled shooting a 3-pointer with 0.7 seconds remaining, but missed the second free throw and couldn't send the game into overtime.

Roelofs finished with 24 points and nine rebounds and Luke Lovelay posted a double-double with 11 points and 20 boards to lead the Eagles. Matthew Poquette had 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Timberwolves, while K. Poquette stuffed the statsheet with 17 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

LCA takes fourth place with the win, while MWP settles for sixth.
