Summary

Kenrick Doherty recorded 19 points as Neah Bay repelled Sunnyside Christian 61-58 in a 1B semifinal Friday at Spokane Arena.

The Red Devils (21-3) built a 10-point lead entering the fourth quarter, but the Knights (22-6) whittled away the lead to set up a dramatic finish. Luke Wagenaar sank a pair of shots and then drained a 3-pointer to cut the margin to one with three minutes left. Ryan Moss and Chance Marsh then traded shots, and Wagenaar came up with a steal, but a turnover cost SC a chance at a game-winning shot, and Rweha Munyagi finished the game with a breakaway layup.

Munyagi notched 15 points and Reggie Buttram grabbed nine rebounds for Neah Bay, which will face Almira/Coulee-Hartline in the final. Wagenaar led all scorers with 20 points and Chance Marsh added 15 for Sunnyside Christian.
