Summary

Ashtyn Aune tallied 14 points and seven rebounds, and Colfax rallied to edge St. George's 40-38 Friday morning in a 2B consolation matchup at Spokane Arena.

The Bulldogs (19-9) struggled in the first half, shooting just 16% from the field, and the Dragons (21-8) led by 20-9 at the break.

But Aune sparked a Colfax comeback, as she knocked down three 3-pointers, the last of which put the Bulldogs up 33-30 with five minutes remaining. After buckets from Katie Tender and Erin Armitage drew St. George's level, Taylor Garcia put Colfax in front for good with a bucket at the 2:20 mark.

Garcia then added two free throws before Hailey Higashi got a steal and layup with five seconds left to pull St. George's within two. Garcia missed a one-and-one and Natalie Farias had a chance to win the game, but her 3 was wide at the buzzer.

Garcia with 10 points. Higashi led St. George's with 19 points and six rebounds.
