Summary

Shania Graham scored 14 points dished out seven assists, and Republic overcame a slow start to ease past Mt. Vernon Christian 53-34 Thursday night at Spokane Arena in the 1B quarterfinals.

The Tigers (24-1) didn't scored until 3:30 remained in the opening quarter, but they quickly erased an early five-point hole and raced ahead. Graham scored seven straight points bridging the first and second quarters to springboard Republic in front. The Tigers forced 20 turnovers and outboarded the Hurricanes (18-10) 24-14.

Demi Jo Vaughn added 13 points and Savannah Bowe netted 10. Republic will now face Evergreen Lutheran on Friday.

Grace Kuipers paced MVC with 12 points and Haley Hood scored 11.
