Summary

Cameron Gay poured in 25 points, and Lakeside rallied to defeat host Newport 63-62 on Tuesday.

Gunnar Swannack added 13 points for the Eagles (12-4, 8-2 Northeast A League), while Blayne Baerwald chipped in 11.

Lakeside trailed by six entering the final quarter, but surged into the lead and made six of six free throws down the stretch to hold on. The Grizzlies' (11-5, 6-4) Koa Pancho sank a three to cut the lead to one in the closing seconds, but it wasn't enough.

Ty McDaniel led Newport with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Kyler Zorica netted 13, and Pancho scored 12 and also had 11 rebounds. Danny Bradbury contributed 11 points.
