Summary

Freshman Lauren Matt scored 13, points, including the game-winning three in the final minute, and Wellpinit held off Selkirk 48-47 in a wild contest on Saturday.

The Redskins led 40-34 entering the fourth quarter, but the Rangers stormed back thanks to Hannah Rick's game-high 25 points.

Rick's basket with just over two minutes remaining put Selkirk in front. After the teams traded empty possessions, Matt stroked a three with 52 seconds left to restore Wellpinit's lead. The hosts then had to survive a pair of Selkirk chances, with the outcome not decided until the visitors' final shot rolled off at the buzzer.

Fellow freshman Christina Carden tacked on 10 points for Wellpinit.

Jenna Couch added 10 points and 12 steals for Selkirk.
