Summary

For a second straight year, the Lakeland Hawks captured the 4A Region I boys basketball tournament championship.

Lakeland got out to a 12-point lead in the fourth quarter and held off Sandpoint 43-34 at North Idaho College on Wednesday.

Lakeland advances to state, March 3-5 at Borah High School in Boise.

Kaden Davis led Lakeland (10-12) with 14 points. Carlos Collado led Sandpoint (7-15) with 10 points.

Sandpoint takes on the District III third-place team Saturday in Grangeville to decide a state berth.
