Jaelynn Skok nailed a 15-foot jumper with 17 seconds overtime to put Chewelah ahead in a 35-34 overtime win in a District 7 1A loser-out playoff game.

Newport's Hadley Stratton banked in a layup with 40 seconds to go in regulation to knot the score at 34.

Skok scored all four of Chewelah's points in overtime, and Krislyn Koler scored 11 to lead the team.

The Cougars advance to a loser-out game on Saturday against the loser of Freeman and Lakeside to claim the No. 2 spot in Regionals.
