Shadle Park hung on to win 66-65 against Kennewick in a 3A subregional on Friday night.

After blitzing the Lions 25-11 in the second quarter, Kennewick stormed back to cut the Highlanders lead to one late in the second quarter. Shadle Park missed the front end of a 1-and-1 and put back on the offensive boards, giving Kennewick another chance to win the game. Nico Benavidez went coast-to-coast, but couldn't get a fadeaway jumper inside the paint to fall as the buzzer sounded.

Tanner Grove led Shadle Park with 24 points and 16 rebounds, while Kylan Kelly added 14 points. Dillon Plew scored 18 to lead Kennewick, and Benavidez and Bugal chipped in 17 and 15, respectively.

Shadle Park advances to the 3A regional round of state with the win.
